Uncomfortable Conversations
Speakers: Jenny Boyett and Justin Elam
Length: 2 Parts
Most of us dread difficult conversations, and many would rather avoid them altogether. However, having an uncomfortable but necessary conversation can strengthen our relationship with the person on the other side of the conversation.
So, how can we have those types of conversations in the best possible way? Not only are there some best practices to keep in mind during the conversation, but there’s also work we need to do before the conversation takes place. In this two-part group study, we’ll share a step-by-step framework you can follow when you face an uncomfortable conversation.
Part 1: Humble Preparation
Before we have a potentially difficult conversation, we need to look inward. In this session, we’ll review four principles to get ourselves ready.
Part 2: A Loving Approach
Our approach is key to making a difficult conversation go as well as possible. In this session, we’ll discuss some tips for keeping the conversation on point and loving the other person well.
